Boy Scout Expo

Join the Boy Scouts of America on Saturday, April 24, as they celebrate their 100th anniversary in Hibbing at the Irongate Mall. As part of that celebration the Sleeping Giant District of the Voyageurs Area Council will be hosting a Scout “Expo” at the Mall on April 24 from 10 – 4. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from Hibbing, Orr, Cook, Virginia and other surrounding towns will gather to display the talents and skills they have learned and use as scouts. The theme is “Saluting 100 Years” and so both new and old skills will be demonstrated. For the first time at the Expo this year there will be outside as well as indoor displays. Parents can learn how to sign their son up for Scouting and boys will see how much fun the program can be.

Also at the Expo will be the Derby Car Race Finals where the top winners from each unit will race against each other to determine who has the fastest car! Best of show cars will be on display and the public can vote for their favorite car.

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has created a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for America's youth. Through A Year of Celebration, we celebrate this legacy and commit ourselves to inspire and prepare future generations.

Come check out the day long exposition and celebration, open and free to the public on Saturday, April 24. For more information contact Lee Iverson at 262-4332.
