Christmas Celebrating Starts Early

Attend the Yuletide Festival at the Hibbing Public Library Tuesday night December 1st the Hibbing City Band starts at 6:00 p.m. and the festivities continue with Yuletide Stories, Childrens Book Give-A-Way, Visits with Santa, Christmas Crafts and punch and cookies for all.

Is your name Shirley? Then meet at the Hibbing Park Hotel Wednesday December 2nd at 11:30 a.m. for the "All Shirleys Christmas Gathering". For more information call Shirley at 262 5356

The Spirit of Unity Parade is Thursday evening December 3rd starting at 6:00 p.m. Come out early for other events before the parade like:

  • Christmas Party at Security State Bank from 430P to 6P Get your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus by Flom Designs & enjoy Games, Face-painting, Christmas Cookie Decorating, Rudi's Pizza for $2 Slice, and more!
  • Photos with Santa at the Atrium from 3P to 5P by Tiffany Rajkovich . Free hot chocolate for all after the parade!
  • During the parade, warm up at The Men's Shop with free coffee and holiday treats.
  • Photos with the Grinch at The Brickyard!Free photos, plus children 12 and younger eat free with Adult EntrĂ©e purchase (one free child per one paid adult).
The Northland Broadway Youth Theater will perform "Little Town of Christmas" Friday December 4th at 7:pp p.m. and at Noon and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th at the Lincoln School Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door adults are $6, students & seniors are $4, children under 5 are free.

And on Saturday December 5th there are two more Church Bazaars at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (2012 7th Ave E.)from 11a - 1p and the First Lutheran (2201 3rd Ave E.) Noon to 2:30p

Sleigh Rides with Santa on Saturday, December 5th from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at the VFW. Enjoy hot dogs, juice, chips and more with Santa

On December 5th and 6th there is a Holiday Bazaar and Craft Show at the Mesabi Mall.

A Christmas Boutique and Tea will be held at the Mitchell-Tappan House Bed & Breakfast on December 5th and 6th. For more information and to make reservations call 262-3862.

The Hull Rust Mine View and Tourist Center Gift Shop needs to make room for the 2010 inventory. Get some Holiday shopping done. There are some Hibbing oriented gifts for sale. Stop in to the Senior Tourist Center at 12102 E Howard St, Friday or Saturday December 4 & 5 between 9a and 4p.

Thanksgiving Volunteers are needed

Volunteers are requested to assist in shopping, preparation, delivery of meals, drivers, servers and clean up for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day from 11:45a to 2p at the St. Leo's Hall in the Assumption School.

New people to the area, those who are alone, and anyone who enjoys festivity, a good meal and good company on a holiday are welcome to attend. The meal is free and and the Facility is Handicapped accessible.

Bazaars, Craft Shows, Boutiques, Oh, My!

Hunting season is here and while some are out in the woods others are inside churches, homes, malls, and halls hunting for bargains.

Some events in Hibbing include:

November 6th

Salvation Army Annual Harvest Festival and Auction
will be held at 107 W Howard Street. Walking taco dinner, hot mini-donuts, and bake sale at 5:00 p.m., live auction at 6:00 p.m.


November 6 & 7

Annual Holiday Boutique - Maria, Anita, Cena, MaryLou, Kathy, Malynn & Connie will have Finnish Biscuit, Bakery, Crafts, Blankets, Jewelry, Wearable Art and Much more at the Hibbing Tourist Center, 1202 E Howard St on November 6th form 1 - 6 p.m. and November 7th from 8a to 1p.

Holiday Boutique - From 9a - 5p both days at 2125 11th Ave E. James, jellies, pickles, salsas, antipasto, diamond willow lamps, quilted table runners, hot pads, tea towels, mittens, hats, afghans, seasonal baked goodies, candies & floral arrangements will be available.


Home Spun Holiday - November 6 from 3-7p and November 7 from 9a -1p at 2011 E 31st St (off of 19th Ave E). Handcrafted items, jams, jellies, antipasto, potica, antiques , collectibles, and furniture will be available.

Alpha Delta Kappa - KC Crafter's Sale - From 9A - 2p at the KC Hall at 2611 E Beltline. 22 vendors with hundreds of craft items, books, fall and Christmas items, $1 donation for scholarships.

Avon Holiday Sparktacular - From 1-4p at the Memorial Building Little Theater. All Avon products showing - try it - buy it or order it. Free workshop on Avon's opportunity and free refreshments.

Blessed Sacrament's Autumn Bazaar Sharing Warm Hearts
will be held from 8a - 1p in the St Leo's Hall in the Assumption Catholic School.
Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. for $7 per person - egg casserole, fresh fruit, muffin, juice, and coffee. Enjoy a deli and baked goods, homemade gifts, Howard Street Booksellers Book Fair, raffles, kids games, and other vendors.

Colors of Fall Holiday Boutique - From Noon to 4P at 404 E 21st St. Handcrafted jewelry, pottery, rugs, soy candles, aprons, totes, hand-painted glassware, switch plate covers, ink drawings, fresh bread and antipasto will be available.

Holiday Bazaar - From 10A-3P at 2015 9th Ave E. Baked goods, clothes, handcrafted items, and collectibles available.

Holly Days" Annual Bazaar Our Savior's Lutheran Church - From 11-2 at 501 East 23rd St. Bakery, deli, crafts, & Christmas Room, a Greater Gift and Christmas cookies sold by the pound. Turkey salad lunch, pie, and coffee available.

Hull Rust Liquor Holiday Wine Tasting & Open House will be held from Noon - 3p 3517 E. Beltline. Wines, liqueurs, gourmet brews, gifts, prizes and complimentary samples will be available!

Lee Center Annual Fall Festival will be held from 9a -2:30p. Jams, jellies, baked goods, crafts, used clothing and household items will be available. Coffee an' will be served.

Maple Hill Community Hall Holiday Craft & Bake Sale will be held from 9a - 2p at the Community Hall located at the corner of Hwy 73 & Townline Road. Knitted and crocheted items, ornaments, baked goods, woodwork, food items, lots of misc. available plus serving chili, pie & coffee.

Marybeth & Friends Annual Boutique - From 8a-4p at 2114 6th Ave E. vintage chic furniture, home and personal accessories, handmade purses, baby boutique, blankets, jackets, gourmet holiday baked goods, breads, fudge bards, also soups and cookies in a jar, delicious potica and strudel, garden art, jewelery will be available at reasonable prices.
