One Day - Two Great Events

On Saturday, October 3rd take the kids to the Fire Department open house and the Creation Season Event at St. James.

The Fire Department Open house is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fire Department. The Open House is the official kick off for Fire Prevention week and they will have the following events and activities:
  • Displays of our equipment, resources and of course some good old fashioned face to face communications between the members of the fire department and the general public.
  • Serving our usual free lunch of hot dogs, beans and chips as well as some Pepsi products.
  • Demonstrations by our newly certified Technical Rescue Team (TRT), as well as fire extinguisher demonstrations
  • Giving away batteries and smoke alarms to those that are in need and doing blood pressure testing
  • Area vendors will have displays for our visitors to see and learn about what medical and safety resources are available to the general public
  • Photos with Sparky

A Creation Season Event will be held at St. James Episcopal Church at 2028 7th Ave E on Saturday October 3rd from 11:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Creations Season is the celebration of God's Presence (presents) in all of creation.

Activities include: Solar energy, Compact Fluorescent Lighting, Plastics impact on the environment, Recycling, Reducing, Reusing, Fuel assistance/weatherization application, energy efficient cars, clean energy resource team, crocheting plastic bags, dog agility, children's face painting, Heavenly Hogwiches & Hot Dogs from 11a -1p
