Range Creative Art Center Classes

HIBBING — Range Artists Association, Range Creative Art Center, 328 W. Howard St., announce the upcoming fall class lineup.

WOODCARVING
Instructor: Dale Timmerman, Tuesday evenings — 6 to 8:30 p.m. Beginning Oct. 5 through April 2011 This class is for all skill levels. No preregistration required.
Bring your equipment with you or if you need supplies some may be available for purchase. Come and join the group and experience many different types of carving and conversation. There is no charge for the first class. For more information, call

DRAWING TECHNIQUES
Instructor: Dotty Baertschy, 4 sessions — Thursday evenings Oct. 7, 21, 28 and Nov. 4
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dottie will show you how to draw with the correct proportions and measurements, light, reflective light and shading plus many tips in developing your drawing skills. This course will cover many subjects such as the human face and figure, parallel and angular perspective, view points and composition which will equip you to create art such as still like, portraits, scenery and simple architectural drawing. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY for BEGINNERS
Instructor: Mark Sauer 1 session — Monday, Oct. 11, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Still don’t know how to use all of your settings on your digital camera? Want to take better photos? Well this is the class for you. Mark will bring the class through the basics of digital camera operation and photographic techniques.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY for INTERMEDIATES
1 session — Monday, Oct.25, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class is designed for intermediates or those who are somewhat knowledgeable about digital camera photography. Your questions will be answered here. QUILTING 102
Instructor: Jamie McDougall 1 session — Saturday, Oct. 23, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This beginner’s project will be a wall hanging using appliqué techniques. Please bring a bag lunch. For more information, call 263-6785 or visit www.rangeartcenter.org.

INK AND WATERCOLOR
CLASS (aka line and wash) Instructor: Louise Lundin 4 sessions — Thursdays Oct. 21, 28, and Nov. 4 and 11 1 to 3:30 p.m. Get ready to draw and paint with your watercolor brush. Demonstrations will emphasize how to create works of art using
ink and free color washes or ink plus color with a dry brush. Painters may paint the daily demo or work from your own photos. A watercolor brush has been called “the expressive companion of the painter’s heart.” At the end of each lesson students
