Winter Frolic Events

The Hibbing Winter Frolic carries on a tradition with roots as far back as the 1920's, making the event the longest running Hibbing celebration. The present Winter Frolic Committee continues the goal of the original festival to create fun and excitement throughout the community during the long winter season.

Friday, January 29th at 6:00
- Night Skiing - Wear your Winter Frolic button and Ski at Carey Lake starting at 6:00 p.m. Sponsored by Max Gray Construction and Coordinated by the Nordic Gliders.

Saturday, January 30th - Winter Frolic Fishing Contest - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Carey Lake. Adults $10, Children under 12 are free -- all adults must be wearing a 2010 Winter Frolic Button. Bring your ow bait. no driving will be allowed on the lake. First place for the largest Northern - 3 day , 2 night Zipple Bay fishing excursion for 6!

Wednesday, February 3rd - Winter Frolic Senior King and Queen Coronation and Dance from 2:00 – 4:00 join in the “Frolic Festivities” at the Community Senior Center, Memorial Building.

Thursday, February 4th - Downtown Scavenger Hunt will be held on Thursday, February 4th. Photograph items from a list in participating stores, bring them in on your phone or camera to Flom Designs to win "the Best of Hibbing Gift Basket".

Saturday, February 6th - The Winter Frolic Queen Coronation will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Hibbing High School Auditorium.

Thursday, February 18th - The Winter Frolic Royal Roast will be held at the Hibbing Park Hotel. With a social hour starting at 5:30 p.m. and Dinner starting at 6:00 p.m.Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Hibbing Park Hotel, Express Print or Johnson Floral.

Friday, February 19th - Snowball Dance at the Greenhaven School at 7:00 p.m.
