Minnesota Discovery Center announces new summer hours. Beginning May 28 the Museum and Heritage Park will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The Iron Range Research Center will remain open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Minnesota Discovery Center’s vintage trolley will begin making the 2.5 mile round-trip to Glen Location on May 28. Trolley runs are available for $2 per person plus admission on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1 and 3 p.m., Thursday at 1, 3 and 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 1, 3 and 5 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m.
Minnesota Discovery Center’s mining-themed mini-golf course will also open for the season on May 28. The cost is $2 per person per round plus admission.
Minnesota Discovery Center’s demonstrators and history players return to the park and museum Thursdays from 5-9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m.
Other upcoming and ongoing events at Minnesota Discovery Center include:
- two new exhibits created around the famous image, “Grace,” by Eric Enstrom of Bovey. “Grace Inspriations: A Photographic Depiction of the Iron Range” and “The Significance of Grace” run through July 31, 2011.
- Acoustic Café featuring Matt Ray is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday May 26.
- Art in the Park with local musicians and artists is every Thursday 7-9 p.m. starting June 2;
- Empowher, a two-day regional women’s expo is June 3 &4; a dinner and comedy event with comediennes Tina and Lena is Friday, June 3;
- A traveling exhibit from the Charles M. Schulz museum in Santa Rosa, CA, “Peanuts... Naturally” opens June 11; and Grandparents Day is June 18.
